This
exciting safari visits some of the more exclusive and less
commercialised wildlife areas of Kenya: the Aberdare National Park, The
Sweetwaters Game Reserve and the Ol Choro Oiroua Conservancy in the
Maasai Mara. These
wildlife reserves feature a variety of habitats: mountain forest, acacia
woodland and savannah plains where a diverse range of animals can be
seen including lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, elephant, hippo,
rhinoceros, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and various species of
antelope.
The luxury camps are among the best in Kenya. Game drives in the reserves are by 4 wheel drive safari
vehicle with experienced driver-guides who are based at the camps.
DAY 1.
Overnight flight from Gatwick to Nairobi with British Airways.
DAY 2.
Arrive Nairobi and transfer to the famous Norfolk Hotel.

DAY 3.
After breakfast, a morning drive to the Aberdare Country Club for
lunch and then transfer to the Ark, a unique game lodge in the Aberdare
National Park overlooking a floodlit waterhole and salt-lick. The Ark has three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges
provide superb vantage points for viewing the wildlife, including
elephant, Cape buffalo, warthog and waterbuck.
DAYS 4 & 5.
Today you will drive to Sweetwaters Tented Camp in the midst of
the 22,000 acre privately owned Sweetwaters Game Reserve. Accommodation is in luxuriously appointed tents and the camp is
known for its first class cuisine and excellent service. Whilst here you can take part in morning and night game
drives and a walking safari escorted by an observant and knowledgeable
ranger.
DAYS 6 & 7.
A short flight takes you to the Maasai Mara to stay two nights at
the luxurious Mara Safari Club in a private conservancy surrounded on
three sides by the Mara River. Accommodation is in luxury tents with four-poster beds.
Enjoy three game drives during your stay, all escorted by well
trained driver-guides who have lived and worked in the Mara for years. In the evening learn more about the Mara’s ecology and the
Maasai culture from a lecture in the Club’s library or simply relax
and enjoy a 'sundowner' and the sounds of the African night.
DAY 8.
Morning flight back to Nairobi then fly to Mombasa for an 8 night
stay at the 4 star Southern Palms Hotel located on the magnificent Diani
Beach.
DAY
16. Transfer to
the Mombasa international airport for flight to Nairobi and then on to
Gatwick with the British Airways overnight flight.
