Kenya
is
world famous for its wildlife and there is a greater diversity of large
mammal species in East Africa than anywhere else on earth.
When you take a safari in Kenya you will have the memorable
experience of seeing the untamed wildlife in a completely natural
setting. However some
of the most popular parks in Kenya are now being visited by increasing
numbers of tourists and so, when designing our safari itineraries, we
have selected areas of the country which are less commercialised and
which therefore afford the most rewarding wildlife safari experience for
our clients.
We have also chosen smaller, more exclusive camps or lodges,
rather than the larger tourist establishments featured by the
mass-market tour operators.
Please bear in mind that the long distances between the different
wildlife reserves in Kenya can involve many hours of driving over rough
and bumpy roads and we therefore recommend flying by light aircraft
direct to the safari lodge in order to avoid the arduous road journeys.
On our Maasai Mara Air Safari, the Connoisseur’s Safari, the Savannah
Safari and the Special Tented Safari some or all of the transfers
between the camps are by light aircraft to cut out long and
uncomfortable road trips. When
you fly in to the camps and lodges, you will also have the advantage of
being taken out on game-viewing drives in a 4 wheel drive safari vehicle
rather than a minibus and you will have an experienced driver-guide who
is based at the lodge and has first hand local knowledge.
Kenya can offer a marvellous wildlife experience if you choose the right
areas to visit, and if you are looking for the best possible safari
experience then we recommend you take one of our safaris ranging from 5
days to 13 days starting from Nairobi.
For those who simply require a short two or three day safari
during their beach holiday in Mombasa then we can offer a stay at Satao
Safari Camp in Tsavo East which is less commercialised than some other
safari lodges in Tsavo or Amboseli.
